It was a big turning point for me when I was collecting CDs and I started coming across electronic dance albums of almost fully dance club-orientated tracks. These were from artists such as Dave Angel, John Beltran, Carl Craig, Freestyle Man, and The Timewriter, just to name a few.
What pleasantly surprised me was that in between all of these club tracks with short almost skits like ambient pieces, something came to the sort of thing you would find on Kanye West or Outkast albums, but more of an electronic kind, and some of them turned out to become some of my favourite tracks on these albums.
So I thought it would only be right if I selected a few of my favourite ones and compiled them to create a mix, so that's what this is. A selection of electronic textures of my favourite ambient pieces, mainly from dance artists and albums, but not always.
